This density can be extremely challenging and the most feared. This texture is the most diverse of them all, and can be very rewarding once it is mastered. Like all of the other densities, it is imperative that the hair is not straightened too often. This density will make you put more strain in the hair trying to get it under control. At the same time, if there are two separate textures due to heat damage or relaxers, it will easily break off. This density takes the longest to dry (no matter what the curl pattern) and it’s the most difficult to cleanse. On the flip side, it is AMAZING once styling and maintenance techniques are mastered.
This texture needs to be set either dry or wet with a dollop of 10DRIL and OLIVETTE to manipulate the curl. The hair needs to dry an extended period of time for a more defined look. Use OLIVETTE daily or as needed for moisture and shine.
Be careful with straightening this texture. The last thing you want is to lose your natural curl. Add a dime size of SAS to completely wet hair and section it into fours. Let the hair air dry or sit under a warm dryer to soak up most of the water. After that, you can proceed with blow drying on a warm setting to finish removing the water; then go through with hot air to straighten. Use OLIVETTE daily or applied as needed for moisture and shine.
